About Me
Hello! I'm Kami.
I have an incredible passion for food that I started cultivating at a young age but didn't really understand until about five years ago. I was heading to college to be a flute performance major, when I realized that my heart did not lie there anymore. My mom had been mentioning the whole summer that I should go to culinary school. Finally, after saying it one too many times, I gave in and decided to tour a culinary school. I was so thrilled by the idea of spending day after day learning to cook, but I was torn by the desire to go to a regular University. In the end I discovered that the school I was planning on attending had a degree just for someone like me: Food and Nutrition in Business! I was amazed that I could really combine learning to cook, gaining knowledge about the love of my life, food, and getting a bachelor's degree all at once, so that is just what I did!
During my four University years I changed career goals from chef, restaurant owner, dietitian, food teacher, to cake decorator. My biggest problem was I have too many interests. I love cooking. I love baking. I love writing about food. And I love eating healthy.
About three years ago I was told by two pastry chefs from New York at a cookbook signing that I should become a Food Blogger--and wondered to myself, is that an actual career!?! Well, almost a year passed and I finally started on that endeavor. I'm not sure if food writing will ever turn into a career for me, but it is a hobby I hope to continue for many years.
Truthfully, I do not know where this blog will take me or what exactly it will end up being. It will probably contain a lot of my opinions on restaurants in the area, stories of my excitement at various foodie functions, and my favorite recipes. My main intention of this blog is to provide an outlet for all of my foodie fascinations and to hopefully share my love and knowledge for food with you along the way.
